Unboxing
The box features the bold Formula One border art seen across all 2025 F1-themed sets, while maintaining the standard Speed Champions box size and proportions.
The back of the box displays the model, along with comparison shots and alternative angles for a closer look.
Inside the box, you'll find a total of six numbered bags, an instruction manual, a sticker sheet, and a separate chassis piece.
Although this isn't an 18+ set, the manual includes a striking comparison image showcasing the real car alongside the LEGO version, along with their respective cities of origin.
The sticker sheet is packed with a total of 30 stickers—an unfortunate but expected aspect of the LEGO Speed Champions set. While it would be unrealistic to expect LEGO to print all of them, some of the smaller stickers can be tricky to apply. Nonetheless, the set still includes a good selection of printed pieces. Given that F1 cars are typically covered in sponsor decals, the use of stickers helps maintain a high level of realism.
The LEGO Speed Champions set includes several interesting pieces, with three new ones standing out. The printed red slope helps shape the gentle curve of the front nose section, the black piece in the middle acts as an axle connector holding the front wheels, and the 2×6 black slope with a gentle inverted curve is likely to be highly versatile for MOCs.
Of course, the new wheels are another exciting addition. The tires are molded as part of the wheel piece, with a 2×2 printed radar dish serving as the wheel cover. These elements look exceptional, accurately replicating the design of real F1 wheels, adding to the LEGO Speed Champions set's authenticity.
Building
Bags 1 and 2 are opened together, making the build a three-stage process. The first stage features the driver and constructs the core of the LEGO Speed Champions car.
Finally, bags 5 and 6 bring the model to completion. While LEGO Speed Champions sets are renowned for their advanced building techniques, this model truly stands out—featuring clever and creative sub-assemblies that come together to form an impressive final design.
Minifigures
The LEGO Speed Champions Ferrari set includes one minifigure to drive the car, dressed in a simplified version of the 2024 Ferrari racing suit. While the colors are accurate, featuring nice striping and a Ferrari logo, the suit feels underdetailed, lacking the sponsor logos that cover the real-life racing outfit. Given that previous F1 Speed Champions minifigures have featured sponsor prints, it's unclear why they were omitted this time, resulting in a figure that looks rather plain.
The standout feature is the new dual-molded helmet, which looks fantastic with a printed Ferrari logo. However, the visor is non-functional and cannot open, which feels like a slight drawback in an otherwise impressive LEGO Speed Champions design.
Completed model
Of course, the model is decorated with stickers and prints, including details around the beautiful front wing. Thankfully, the long list of sponsors running down the central slope, along with the Ferrari logo on the 1×1 slope at the end, are printed, adding to the authenticity of the LEGO Speed Champions car.
The side view is especially striking as well—despite the scale limitations, the overall proportions are impressively accurate, showcasing the sleek design typical of LEGO Speed Champions models.
The rear of the LEGO Speed Champions model features additional details, including HP and Bang & Olufsen sponsor stickers positioned around the sides of the rear wing. An exhaust is cleverly represented using a 1×1 dark grey round piece with a bar, complemented by a printed 1×1 tile below that replicates the flashing red lights of the real F1 car.
The underside of the LEGO Speed Champions model reveals a glimpse of the complex building techniques used in its construction. Notably, 1×1 plates with claw pieces are placed behind the front wheels to replicate the jagged design of the Venturi tunnels, adding to the model’s realistic detailing.
The cockpit is equipped with a seat for the driver, and some truly impressive brick-building techniques are used to craft the triangular inlet design and the black T-cam behind the driver's helmet, adding to the model’s authenticity and attention to detail.
