2025 is set to be an exciting year for LEGO Speed Champions enthusiasts, with a fantastic range of upcoming sets featuring Formula 1 cars and iconic racing models. Here’s everything you need to know about the new LEGO Speed Champions RB20 sets arriving in 2025.
Depending on your allegiance to a particular F1 team, the Red Bull Racing livery can evoke different emotions. However, there’s no denying that the energy drink giant’s dominance in recent years has left an unforgettable mark on Formula 1 history.
While the RB20 may not have been the most successful contender, it still played a crucial role in propelling star driver Max Verstappen to a drivers' championship win. As a result, the LEGO Speed Champions RB20 has earned its place as an iconic model, embodying the spirit of Red Bull Racing – relentless, innovative, and always pushing boundaries.
Unboxing
This LEGO Speed Champions set stands out from the rest, thanks to its sleek black box art, which designates it as an 18+ set. The reasoning behind this is actually quite humorous—since Red Bull is an energy drink, it can’t be marketed to children. While this isn’t a major issue, it’s interesting that LEGO chose to label it 18+, even though the build is very similar to other Speed Champions sets and doesn’t feature anything too complex that only adults would tackle. It’s a fun workaround that doesn’t change the essence of the model but gives it a bit of an adult twist!

Strangely, the set’s name isn’t listed anywhere on the box—just the set number and relevant logos. Despite this, it still looks great. Personally, I think the all-black design gives it a much sleeker, more polished look.
That's the packages inside the box
The set includes six numbered bags, a separate chassis piece, an instruction manual, and a sticker sheet – typical for this wave of Lego Speed models.
Build Process
Bags 1 and 2 focus on constructing the car’s core, with key colors like dark blue, red, and yellow already making an appearance. Then, bags 3 and 4 build on this foundation, adding intricate details to the rear and completing the cockpit area as well.
Bags 5 and 6 finalize the model. While the shaping of the sidepods and underfloor was a bit simpler compared to other sets in the F1 Speed Champions wave, the building experience remained highly engaging, filled with clever techniques. The variation in sidepod and underfloor designs also results in distinct build processes for each car, offering a refreshing contrast to the City F1 line, where all the cars followed the same build with only minor color differences.
LEGO Speed Champions 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 is one of the more straightforward builds in this wave, and you can expect it to take around 30 to 45 minutes to complete.
Minifigures
The minifigure comes with a blonde hairpiece and a spanner, perfect for when your driver needs to make some repairs in the garage! This is one of only two figures in the Speed Champions line that features a unique torso print compared to the City version. The City variant has no Red Bull logo due to restrictions on energy drink branding, while this one stays true to the design, though it’s still a bit simplified in terms of detail.
This Lego Speed Champions set includes just one minifigure, a driver wearing Red Bull Racing overalls. The design looks great, with accurate blue striping along the sides and the Red Bull logo, though it's a bit disappointing that other sponsor logos are missing. The new dual-moulded helmet is a highlight, featuring a trans-red visor (which unfortunately doesn’t open) and a nicely printed Red Bull logo on top.
Completed Model
Although the weight difference between 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 and other sets is minimal, this Lego Speed Champions model feels the lightest in hand once fully built. While it has the fewest pieces, the difference is only slight. The light, airy feel of the model can be attributed to its sleek, streamlined design, which tapers sharply at both wheel axes, creating an angular profile that closely mirrors its real-life counterpart.
